The Storyteller (A poetic story)

A special dedication to Evelyn and Nana Yaa for unconsciously revealing to me that, this blog has an audience waiting. Thank you both 💞 and thank you all for your support ❤

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

She stood in front of the crowd - microphone in hand,
Ready to bare her soul but she found no words come out of her mouth.

She stood in front of the crowd
Her mind racing with thoughts she yearned to express, but she found no words come out of her mouth.

She stood in front of the crowd...still silent.
Her pen had written many stories of a life she once lived and a life she yearned to live,
but she found no words come out of her mouth.

Still standing in front of the crowd, her heart was burdened with life's issues, anxiety, fear and doubts which did not belong there.
For she knew she should not have opened the door of her heart to thoughts that she simply did not belong.

In her mind was a book in which were written all the memories of her life, pages...pages of chapters, chapters of novels. Novels of the sad kind but not yet a fairy tale.
Or rather a crime mystery book? In which 'blissful future' was the prisoner, 'joy' was the victim and 'despair' played the detective.

For it (despair) occasionally visited Joy, questioning and interrogating her like she was 'the criminal'. While the real criminals were out there, walking free. She had 3 intruders but he (despair) called them 'suspects'.

'Everyday' was the name of the first.
'Not good enough' was the name of the second.
And 'Something' was the name of the third suspect.

Everyday was the better of the 3. It did not always cause trouble.
Something was worse than Everyday. But 'Not good enough' was the worst of the 3,
Because it had been Joy's tormentor, for as long as she could remember and the leader of the 3.

They worked hard together. Indeed, unity was their weapon and they had a sole aim.
To kill Joy.

...

To be continued.
