Being Patient

The picture above contains verses from the Bible, Ecclesiastes 3 verse 1 to 8. I hope it speaks some words of wisdom and encouragement to you. It surely has done so for me. We are back on the "Being ... " series, although I don't know how long it will last for; I will try to keep to it as long as possible.

There is no doubt that the theme for today is related to my personal experience. I cannot write with much honesty if I have no experience of the issue under discussion. I will be the first to admit that things have not been easy lately, personally, it feels like something I desire so badly in my life will not happen anytime soon. Worse of all, I have not been able to conjure up some solution in the medium to long term. So here I am, feeling stuck and helpless, but I have decided to focus on other things.

Dear reader, like me, you might be feeling anxious, frustated, trapped or helpless by one or a number of issues in your life. Emotions and thoughts no doubt register fear, anger, confusion and so much negativity. We think of the problem(s) every second of the day and even when we retire to putting those thoughts behind us, they remain at the back of our mind...creeping in with the slighted opportunity.

I am not an expert on dealing with worry or anxiety, and I can by no means testify to have conquered my troubles and anxieties. I am climbing my mountain and maybe that's why I can empathise with you and share some 4 tips and strategies. I will keep it short and sweet today...I promise!

1) Share your concerns with someone. A friend, a parent, an older person, a pastor, a mentor.
This reminds me of the popular saying 'a problem shared is a problem halved (solved)'

2) Listen to some advice. There is an emphasis on 'some', it is best to take all the advice you have been given and test it out. This will mean asking more 'trusted and wise' folks about the issues raised which you are sure and unsure about. Also, be careful how you deal with what you are told, people will give the advice and help but you will have to deal with the consequences and you will have to live it out.

3) If you are a person of faith, Pray. This should really be number 1 and I personally hold this one in high esteem. God works in mysterious ways. First of all, God would want you to present all your cares, burdens and needs unto Him first. Second, He would not want you to worry about those problems because thirdly, He would want you to put your trust in Him.
When you pray and ask God for His direction, you will be led to the right people to talk to, they could end up being God's mouthpiece as well and lastly as you wait for His answers, his solutions become clearer and more soothing, even better when they are undiluted with your own ideas

4) Do something with your time. As you wait, invest in yourself, build up character, do the things you enjoy and very soon, your mind and heart will slowly grow at peace. Read books, study, pray, chill out, go out, hang out. I mean 'SPICE UP YOUR LIFE!'.
During that time, you might feel like going back to the plans you have made and think about what you really want. Do you need to make some changes? And what can you do now to be best prepared for your glorious future? Oh My...sometimes you will need to ask if this desire is what you really want or need. It's a tough step but as they say ... 'better late than never'. It might not even be late.

These 4 tips and strategies really do remind me that "there is a time for everything".

Thank you for visiting!

Keep living,

Claudy xoxo
